I'm a Platform-Building Campaigner!

Like so many awesome bloggers I follow, I have decided to join the Platform-Building Campaign hosted by Rachael Harrie at Rach Writes... which focuses on building my online presence. After reading agent and writer blogs for the past 2+ years, I decided to jump into the madness three months ago with A Time to Phil. No longer on the sidelines, I'm getting used to balancing my time between blogging and actual writing as well as keeping my blog updated (it's like feeding the beast!), but I love it! I'm still very new to the blogging world, and I'm excited to meet and learn from my fellow bloggers. The writers I've interacted with thus far have been awesome, and I can't wait to meet more.

I'm in two groups: MG/YA (3) and Contemporary/Mainstream Fiction (1). I'm the guy without a head in his pictures because I chose auto-crop.

I look forward to campaigning!

  2. great to see you here- I was on the last round as a relativly new blogger and it was a blast - if you have time don't limit yourself to one load of folk unless there's a lot - other folk have great blogs also whatever thier genre - i learnt such a lot from following them, about writing, publishing, editing and generally had fun - tis time consuming and addictive so be warned - have fun

  3. Hi Phil - so great to meet you! Thanks so much for stopping by my website and introducing yourself - I'm definitely looking forward to getting to know you and everyone else in our contemp group a lot better!
I know you're new to blogging yourself - for great post inspiration (and if you don't already know about them already), I'd recommend checking out YA Highways RTW (Road Trip Wednesday) and Paper Hangover's Friday Fives...both sites give great blog topics for you to join every Wednesday and Friday - not to mention, drives visitors from their site, over to yours!
I try to participate every week - I just posted today's RTW on my blog if you want to check it out or find the links to their sites.
    See you around!

  4. Hi Phil, stopping over from the Campaign. The balance between blogging & writing is tricky. I find that I can blog weekly with little stress.

  5. This is definitely a good idea. I'm so glad you joined us Phil. As far as making the .gif humor posts, they're super easy. Just find some .gifs you like and think about what's going on and try something snarky with them.

  7. Damn, I was on vacation and missed the deadline. I did sign up for a group that said it was still open, but I'm bummed I missed the deadline. I love meeting new writers and bloggers!

  9. Ah, yes. That old auto-crop option always leaves me headless, but then that may be symbolic. I'm often accused by family that I'm "running around like a headless chicken." It's just that writer-wife-mother-gardner-cook-hiker-yogi-friend time crunch thing. That's my excuse, but auto-crop is probably a better one.

Glad to meet you on the Campaign.

  10. Glad you've started blogging Phil! It's definitely a balancing game. I'm in your YA/MG group and looking forward to getting to know you via the blog/web. I echo what you've said about all the AWESOME writers in bloggerville. THEY TOTALLY ROCK!

  19. Welcome to the blogging world! I just started blogging in May after dragging my feet because of how much time I knew it would take. I was at a writer's conference when an agent slammed home how crucial it is to have an online presence. I started a blog that week! I knew I could avoid it no longer!

It's great to meet you! I'm a fellow campaigner in the MG/YA group. I love the feel of your blog - it's so upbeat. You have a wonderful voice - it makes people want to hang out here!
